Brett Elliott has extensive work experience in education, primarily within the Peoria Public Schools district. Brett started their career as a teacher in 1995 and later served as an assistant principal from 2007 to 2011. From 2011 to 2016, they held the position of principal at Peoria Public Schools. In 2016, they transitioned to a principal role at Richwoods High School.

Brett Elliott completed an Associate of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Teaching at Lincoln College in 1991. In 1994, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Eureka College. In 2007, they earned a Masters in Education Administration Type 075 from Bradley University.
