Alex Griffiths

Alex Griffiths has a diverse work experience history. Starting in 2007, they traveled the world and took on temporary roles for various organizations, including UDC Finance, the Ministry of Immigration, and Christchurch City Council in New Zealand. In 2007, they also worked as a Technical Risk and Database Analyst for Ventura/Northern Rock.

In 2008, Alex joined the Care Quality Commission as a Senior Analyst, later becoming a Programme Team Leader responsible for managing teams, designing, developing, and delivering quality and risk management tools for health and social care locations. During their tenure at the Care Quality Commission, they also acted as the Systems & Tools Team Leader, leading a team of developers and designing a central data warehouse and various tools for aggregating and displaying large volumes of evolving data.

From 2016 to 2018, Alex worked as a Technical Consultant at King's College London, focusing on the research project "Big Data for Better Regulation or Better Regulation for Big Data?" Alex collaborated with local and national bodies to understand the use of predictive analytics in the public sector and the associated challenges.

In 2016, Alex also joined The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as a Researcher and later as a CARR Research Fellow. Alex'sresearch at LSE involved using data science to efficiently allocate resources in the public sector, developing a tool to gather and analyze patient feedback for identifying high-risk hospitals.

Most recently, in 2018, Alex became the Chief Technology Officer at PEP Health. PEP Health specializes in identifying and gathering public-available feedback, using custom algorithms to categorize and score the feedback and provide accurate summaries of patient sentiments.

Alex Griffiths has a comprehensive education history. First, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Leeds in 2006. Alex then pursued further studies at King's College London, where they completed a Master's Degree in Risk Analysis from 2010 to 2012. Following this, they continued their academic journey at the same institution and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from 2013 to 2016. Alex'sdoctoral research focused on the field of study titled "Forecasting Failure: Assessing Risks to Quality Assurance in Higher Education Using Machine Learning." Additionally, Alex Griffiths has obtained a certification in "Build Front-End Web Apps from Scratch" from Codecademy in June 2018.
