Afsaneh Mohebbi

Afsaneh Mohebbi, PhD, currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Portfolio & Program Management at PepGen since June 2024. With over 20 years of experience in therapeutic drug development, Afsaneh founded Damavand Consulting, LLC in June 2018, where extensive support is provided to biotech startups in areas such as R&D strategy, program management, and regulatory compliance for rare diseases and oncology. Previous roles include Vice President of Product Development at Agios Pharmaceuticals, where leadership was shown in rare genetic diseases, and Head of Program and Alliance Management at BIND Therapeutics. Afsaneh's career also features positions at Shire HGT, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, where significant contributions were made in drug registration, life cycle strategy, and cross-functional team leadership. Afsaneh holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from UC Irvine, along with various executive education credentials, including a recent Certificate in AI/ML in Pharma & Biotech from MIT Sloan.
