Matthew Wood is Professor of Neuroscience in the Department of Paediatrics, Deputy Head of Division (Innovation) and Deputy to the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Innovation at the University of Oxford. He is also the Director of the Oxford Neuromuscular Centre and the Oxford Centre for Rare Disease. Matthew has a distinguished international profile, and over the last decade has catalysed major advances in the development of oligonucleotide therapies for a number of neuromuscular disorders. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Cape Town working in clinical Neuroscience before gaining a doctorate in Physiological Sciences from the University of Oxford.
