Wikus Theunissen

Wikus Theunissen began their work experience in 2002 as an Operational Audit Manager at Clicks Group. In this role, they managed the operational, distribution, and store retail internal audit function. Wikus also developed and implemented continuous transactional audits using CAAT's and established the Control Self Assessment (CSA) process in retail divisions.

In 2008, Wikus joined Ernst & Young as a Manager in the Risk Advisory Services. Wikus stayed in this position until 2010 when they transitioned to Ackermans as the Group Internal Audit Manager. During their time at Ackermans, they held the role for six years until 2016.

In 2016, they joined Pepkor Holdings Limited as the Head of Internal Audit / CAE, a position that they currently hold.

Wikus Theunissen obtained a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) degree in Project Management from the Scrum Alliance in 2018. Wikus also received a certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in 2015. In terms of higher education, Wikus earned a B.Comm degree in Internal Audit from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, graduating in 2006. Furthermore, they obtained a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification from The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in 2003.
