Pete Peterson

Dean, School of Public Policy at Pepperdine University

Pete Peterson is the current Dean of the School of Public Policy at Pepperdine University. Pete has held various positions in academia and the private sector throughout their career.

Pete began their career in 1992 as a partner at Dotondot. Pete then served as the Executive Director of Common Sense California from 2007 to 2010. In 2010, they became the Executive Director of the Davenport Institute for Public Engagement and Civic Leadership, a position they held until 2016.

In 2014, Pete ran for California Secretary of State as the Republican nominee but was unsuccessful. Pete then served as Interim Dean of Pepperdine's School of Public Policy from August 2015 to March 2016 before being appointed Dean in March 2016.

Pete Peterson received their bachelor's degree in public policy from Pepperdine University School of Public Policy. Pete then went on to earn their Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from The George Washington University.
