Cathy Merry

Cathy Merry is a Professor of Stem Cell Glycobiology at the University of Nottingham, where they lead research focusing on the relationships between glycosaminoglycan structure and function using stem cells. They are also a Visiting Professor at Uppsala University and serve as Chief Scientific Officer for PeptiMatrix, a company they co-founded. Previously, Cathy held the positions of Reader in Stem Cell Glycobiology and Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, and a Research Fellow with Professor John Gallagher in Medical Oncology. Their commitment to enhancing the relevance of drug development assays is reflected in their role on the board of the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research.
