Laura Adamson has over 17 years of work experience in the biotechnology and gene therapy field. Laura is currently working as the Senior Director of Gene Therapy R&D and CMC at Perceive Biotherapeutics, Inc. Prior to that, they held roles at Capsida Biotherapeutics as the Executive Director of Process, Analytical, and Vector Development, and as the Director of Process, Analytical, and Vector Development. Laura also worked at UCB as the Upstream and Analytical Development Lead. Before that, they worked at Homology Medicines, Inc. as the Director of Upstream Process Development and as the Upstream Process Development Lead. Laura Adamson began their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Florida Powell Gene Therapy Center, focusing on adeno-associated virus development and manufacturing. Laura also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Santa Fe College and as a Contributing Editor at PostDoc Journal. Laura completed their education at the University of Florida, where they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Graduate Research Assistant, studying viral-vector-based treatments for thyroid disease. Laura began their research career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Iowa State University.
Laura Adamson earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Genetics from Iowa State University between 2004 and 2008. Laura furthered their education at the University of Florida from 2008 to 2013, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology and Immunology. In addition to their academic achievements, they obtained a certification in Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) in May 2014.
