Mr. Ackert is a Partner in Perella Weinberg Partners’ Advisory business. He focuses on advising clients in the Technology sector.
Mr. Ackert has over two decades of experience advising technology clients across the U.S. and Europe on strategic and M&A matters. He has extensive experience in the software, enterprise and communications technology, and semiconductors space. Most recently, Mr. Ackert was a Managing Director at Foros, which he joined in 2012. Prior to that, he served as Co-Head of European Technology Banking for Goldman Sachs, where he was also a senior member of the M&A group and a member of the European Raid Defense Advisory team. Mr. Ackert began his career in the M&A group at J.P. Morgan in New York.
Over his career, Mr. Ackert’s notable assignments have included advising: Absolute Software on its acquisition of NetMotion; Accenture on its acquisition of Cap Gemini’s North American Health Care Business, ANSYS on its acquisition of Ansoft; BC Telecom on its merger with Telus; CA Technologies on the divestitures of arcserve and ERwin and acquisition of Automic; Clearlake Capital on its acquisition of Vision Solutions; the Special Committee of Cox Communications on the $8.4 billion minority squeeze-out by Cox Enterprises; CSC on its $9.4 billion raid defense against Computer Associates; Cybertrust on its sale to Verizon Business; Dassault Systèmes on its acquisitions of Accelrys and Exa; F5 Networks on its acquisitions of NGINX, Shape Security and Volterra; IFS on its acquisitions of WorkWave and Astea; Intersil on its $3.2 billion sale to Renesas; Matrics on its sale to Symbol Technologies; Modus Media on its sale to CMGI; Nielsen on the divestiture of Claritas; Oclaro on the divestiture of its Zurich Gallium Arsenide Laser Diode Business; Permira on its acquisition of Genesys; Rapid7 on its acquisition of IntSights; Renova Media on its minority squeeze-out of Moscow Cablecom; Sabre on the divestitures of Holiday Autos and Zuji; Sagemcom on its sale to The Carlyle Group; SailPoint on its sale to Thoma Bravo; Scitex Digital Printing on its sale to Eastman Kodak; Silicon Labs on its acquisition of Energy Micro; Spotfire on its sale to TIBCO Software; and STMicroelectronics on the $2.3 billion Numonyx joint venture with Intel and Francisco Partners.
Mr. Ackert earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
