Philippe Capron is a Partner in the Firm’s Advisory business, focused on advising clients in France. Prior to joining Perella Weinberg Partners, Mr. Capron was CFO of Veolia from 2014 to 2018, after having held the same position at Vivendi (2007-2013) and Arcelor (2006). He has previously occupied a number of headquarters functions or operational jobs in various industries, in particular as CEO of Arcelor Packaging and Euler-SFAC (credit insurance). From 1992 to 1994, he was a partner at Bain & Company. He started his career as a Government auditor in France with the Inspection Générale des Finances (1985-1989).
As a principal, Mr. Capron has been involved in leading and executing a large number of transactions. He has also served on the board of companies located in more than a dozen countries and five continents. These include Universal Music Group, Canal +, SFR, GVT (Brazil), NBC Universal, and Transdev as well as listed companies such as Maroc Telecom, Virbac, Econocom, and ActivisionBlizzard (as chairman in 2012-2013).
Since joining PWP, he has advised in particular Altran on its sale to Capgemini and Veolia on its offer to acquire Suez.
Mr. Capron holds a business degree from HEC (École des Hautes Études Commerciales) and is a graduate of Sciences-Po (Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris) and ENA (École Nationale d’Administration).
