R.A. McDonough

R.A. McDonough is a Partner in Perella Weinberg Partners’ Advisory business. He is Head of the Firm’s North American Power & Utilities practice in the Industrials group and works closely with TPH, providing senior focus and leadership across the traditional energy and energy transition advisory efforts.

Mr. McDonough has more than 33 years of experience, including over 28 years at J.P. Morgan and predecessor firms, advising clients on M&A and equity and debt financings, across a number of sectors. Prior to joining PWP, Mr. McDonough served as a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan and Head of Energy-West and Los Angeles Investment Banking. He led the firm’s Western U.S. energy practice, advising leading energy, utility, renewable and clean tech companies on a number of marquee transactions. He has also advised leading energy transition companies and advised on some of the largest renewables M&A transactions in history.

Previously, Mr. McDonough served as Head of J.P. Morgan’s General Industries-West Investment Banking Group. Mr. McDonough joined J.P. Morgan upon Chase’s acquisition of The Beacon Group, a leading advisory and private equity firm with the largest Energy Fund at the time, where he was a Partner. He began his career in Merrill Lynch’s Industrial Banking Group.

Mr. McDonough holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College.
