Chris Kesten

Chris Kesten, CMA, has over 18 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles. Chris is currently serving as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Perfection Pet Foods since July 2020. Prior to this, they held the same position at C.J. Foods, Inc. for three years, where they contributed to strategic initiatives and created financial models and dashboards to support private equity transactions and analyze customer profitability.

Before joining C.J. Foods, Inc., Chris worked at Sprint Connect, LLC. as the Director of Financial Planning, where they aligned budget and forecasting with business units to ensure transparency and accountability. Chris also developed store P&L and audited store capital ROI before leaving the company.

Chris also has experience in the retail industry, having served as a Finance Manager at Payless ShoeSource. In this role, they oversaw global capital and IT expense budgets, managed cash reporting and rolling forecasts, and implemented cost-saving measures.

Prior to that, Chris worked as an Accounting Manager at JCPenney, where they oversaw cross-functional departments, implemented system improvements, and reduced backlog and FTEs in the property support department.

Chris also worked as a Financial Analyst and Senior Accountant at CLEARLINK, where they developed processes and internal controls, created rolling forecasts and budgets, and achieved target profits for 19 business units.

Earlier in their career, Chris served as the Director of Finance and Coaching at Financial Freedom Coaching, where they managed fulfillment operations, accounting, tax compliance, and revenue streams. Chris also developed a successful FX trading coaching program.

Chris began their career at Safe & Sound Systems as an Assistant Director of Accounting, where they improved cash flow and increased prepay discounts.

Chris holds a CMA designation and earned their Bachelor's degree in Finance from a reputable institution. Chris has demonstrated expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis. Their strong leadership and analytical skills have contributed to their success in various organizations.

Chris Kesten, CMA, has a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. Prior to that, they attended the University of Utah where they studied General. In terms of certifications, they hold a Life and Health Licenses from the State of Utah, obtained in January 2000, as well as Series 6, 7, and 63 certifications from NASD, also obtained in January 2000.
