Esa Nickle

Esa Nickle has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Esa began their career as a Coordinator at Gallery 37, Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Chicago in 1992 and worked there until 1995. From 1996 to 1998, they served as the Director of Gallery 37 London, Greenwich & Docklands International Festival. In 2002, Esa took on the position of Associate Director at White Box, Chelsea, where they stayed until 2005. During the same period, they also worked as a Project Manager at Works of Art for Public Art/Joyce Pomeroy Schwartz. Since March 2020, Esa has served as the Managing Director and Executive Producer at Performa, where they were previously the Producing Director and International Affairs from 2005 to 2020.

Esa Nickle obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology of Art from Indiana University Bloomington, where they studied from 1988 to 1992.
