Samir Karam

Samir Karam has a diverse range of work experience. Samir currently serves as COO and Partner at Performa_IT, a role they have held since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Lean Digital Transformation at the same company from June 2019 to February 2022, where they helped organizations navigate the digital transformation process using innovative and creative approaches.

Samir has also worked as a Professor at Universidade Estadual de Campinas since February 2016 and at Centro Universitário Salesiano de São Paulo since February 2016. Samir has taught courses on Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Database Administration, sharing valuable insights and real-world case studies.

Additionally, Samir has held various managerial positions. Samir was the Gerente de Projetos PMO at Grupo DPaschoal from November 2013 to May 2019, where they oversaw project portfolio management and implemented the Agile SCRUM methodology. Prior to this, they worked as a Project Manager at Softway from November 2012 to November 2013 and at Katoen Natie from March 2010 to October 2012. In these roles, they led projects related to software implementation, logistics, and warehouse management systems.

Samir also gained valuable experience as a Project Manager at Wunderman Technologies from December 2009 to March 2010, where they managed IT projects in the advertising industry. Samir started their career at IBM in December 2005, where they held the positions of Project Manager and DB2 UDB DBA. During their time at IBM, they managed complex IT projects and handled the administration of DB2 UDB databases.

Lastly, Samir briefly served as a Professor of Database Administration at Faculdade Policamp from April 2008 to December 2008.

Samir Karam has a postgraduate degree in Supply Chain Management and Logistics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, obtained between 2011 and 2012. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from the same university, earning their degree between 2003 and 2007. In terms of additional certifications, Samir is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI), obtained in 2009. Samir is also an IBM Certified Advanced Database Administrator for DB2, acquired in 2007. Additionally, Samir holds a Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) from Cambridge University, earned in 2002.
