Dan DeFay

Dan DeFay has a diverse background in IT and cybersecurity, with a career spanning over two decades. They served as an Electronics Technician in the US Navy from 1991 to 1997, before transitioning to technology roles in the corporate sector. Dan was an Assistant Network/Database Administrator at Downey Brand LLP from 2003 to 2007 and later worked as an IT Consultant at Baker Cadence Solutions until 2015. In 2015, they founded SmartFirm IT, where they served as CEO until 2023, and currently hold the position of Chief Security Officer at NorthStar Technology Group. Additionally, Dan is the Vice President of Information Security at PDW and a Computer Science Instructor.
