As Quality Director for the Air Sector, Andy leads a team covering; Australia, Europe & International Markets, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United States Programmes, Defence Information and Regional Aircraft. Andy is accountable for the development and deployment of the quality strategy, management system and resources across the Air Sector and is the accountable person for quality.
Andy has had a diverse career working for BAE Systems across the Aerospace and Defence sector starting as an apprentice in 1996. He has previously held senior leadership positions covering the majority of the Air Sector products across the full lifecycle.
Andy is the President of the International Aerospace Quality Group, an incorporated not for profit association registered in Belgium who have the aim of “Establishing and maintaining a dynamic cooperation based on trust between Aviation, Space and Defence companies to make significant improvements in quality performance and reductions in cost throughout the value stream”. The IAQG is responsible for the Aviation, Space and Defence certification scheme – AS/EN/JISQ across the globe with over 25,000 certified sites.
Andy holds a number of degrees including a Master of Business Administration. He also holds Technical committee leadership positions for the British Standards Institute (BSI), the European Aviation Space & Defence Standards organization (ASD-Stan) and is the Chair of the UK Aviation, Defence and Space Quality Board.
