Alan Coulter

Alan Coulter has over 15 years of experience in various roles within the healthcare industry. Alan has worked at Performant Corp since 2019, where they currently serve as the Vice President of Business Development. In this role, they are responsible for building partnerships and creating a healthcare system that benefits all stakeholders. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2021, they were the Director of Strategic Industry Relations at Performant Corp.

Before joining Performant Corp, Alan worked at UnitedHealth Group for more than a decade. Alan held several positions, including Director of Strategic Partner Operations, Director of Business Strategy and Operations, Associate Director of Payment Integrity, and Data Mining Operations Manager. In these roles, they focused on managing member-based programs, leading revenue-based initiatives, managing vendor relations, and streamlining processes to maximize synergies across the enterprise.

In addition to their work in the healthcare industry, Alan also has experience in academia. Alan served as an Adjunct Professor of English at Pellissippi State Community College from 2014 to 2016 and as an Adjunct Instructor at Motlow State Community College from 2007 to 2012.

In 2013, Alan worked as a Contract Manager at Inventurus Knowledge Solutions, where they developed contract management programs, managed revenue-generating projects, and served as a subject matter expert in claims processing and healthcare industry practices. Alan also reviewed standard operating procedures and educated providers and internal teams on changes in the healthcare market.

Alan Coulter has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Health Care Administration from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, earned from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed a Master's Degree in English Composition and Rhetoric from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) from 2004 to 2006. Alan'sundergraduate education was also at MTSU, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from 2000 to 2004. Alan Coulter attended Sale Creek School for their high school education from 1987 to 2000.
