Jim Earthman

James Earthman, Chief Science Officer and Co-Founder of Perimetrics, LLC., oversees the system’s software engineering and mechanical development for the Company. He is also a Professor at the University of California, Irvine. He received his B.S. degree in Materials Science from Rice University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University. Professor Earthman's research activities include studies of a broad range of deformation and damage mechanisms in both synthetic and biological materials, novel methods for extending the life of engineering materials as well as reducing the stability of certain deleterious materials, and the development of computer-based techniques for novel quantitative diagnostics of material characteristics and integrity.
