Todd Buchanan

Todd Buchanan is a seasoned architectural professional with extensive experience in leading design teams and managing projects across various sectors. Currently serving as Principal and Managing Director at Perkins&Will since December 2025, Todd previously held the position of Senior Principal and Senior Regional Practice Leader at HOK from June 2008 to October 2025, where Todd was instrumental in establishing and expanding the Seattle studio. Prior to that, Todd contributed to major healthcare projects at NBBJ from December 2003 to May 2008, and honed design skills at ZBA Architecture and NBBJ Design, focusing on diverse project types. Todd began the architectural journey at Smithsund Architects, influencing the firm’s development as its first employee. Todd holds a BA in Architectural Studies from the University of Washington, earned in 1997.
