Alison Atherton is an experienced educator and project planner with a strong background in special education and curriculum development. Currently serving as a Special Education Paraeducator at Perkiomen Valley School District since October 2021, Alison previously worked as a tutor for Brainfuse and was self-employed while preparing to return to work after a career break. Alison has a notable history with Duke University School of Medicine, where a key role involved accreditation and curriculum for a new medical school, alongside project management in admissions and student life. Additional experience includes serving as a Grants Officer for the Capital Community Foundation and teaching European history as a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Academic credentials include a PhD and MA in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Oklahoma.

We are one of the suburban Philadelphia’s premier school districts, serving nearly 5,800 students in the communities of Collegeville, Lower Frederick, Perkiomen, Schwenksville, Skippack, and Trappe. PVSD has a total of seven schools: high school (grades 9-12), two middle schools (grades 6-8); and four elementary schools (grades K-5).
