PermitFlow’s mission is to streamline and simplify construction permitting in the $1.6 trillion United States construction market. Our software reduces time to permit, supporting permitting end-to-end including permit research, application preparation, submission, and monitoring.
We’ve raised a $31m Series A led by Kleiner Perkins with participation from Initialized Capital, Y Combinator, Felicis Ventures, Altos Ventures, and the founders and executives from Zillow, PlanGrid, Thumbtack, Bluebeam, Uber, Procore, and more.
Our team consists of architects, structural engineers, permitting experts, and workflow software specialists, all who have personally experienced the pain of permitting.
✋ Who you are?
We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to work as the CEO’s extension and thought partner to execute on an increasingly complex and critical basket of priorities. It is a versatile role with ample opportunities to learn and make a difference, and is the perfect role for someone who wants a front-row seat as we grow.
You will get a lot of responsibility, exposure to different teams and parts of the company, the executive team, partners, customers, and investors.
You are a problem solver and self-organizer who thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments, and has a deep bias for action. You love being given ambitious goals and the freedom to figure out how to get there.
You will get full access to our decision making and internal reflections. We’re looking for high-drive and horsepower to help take PermitFlow to the next level.
✅ What You’ll Do:
- Serve as a sounding board and thought partner to the CEO across all topics related to the company
- Roll up your sleeves to handle day-to-day tactical work as needed that comes to the CEO
- Drive senior executives to ensure the execution of most immediate & critical priorities and keep accountability of leadership action items
- Spearhead specific strategic projects, executing on high priority business areas or initiatives: scoping, setting goals and success metrics, reporting on outcomes
- Handle confidential communications, strategic decisions, and executive-level matters with professionalism and empathy
🙌 Qualifications & Fit:
- Professional Background: 3 years of industry experience in management consulting or financial services (e.g., private equity, investment banking, venture capital), corporate strategy, and / or strategy & operations at a high-growth start-up
- Strategic Expertise: Solid experience in operational strategy development and execution, with a knack for improving efficiency and growth
- Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment, with a focus on strategic decision-making and operational agility
- Strong quant inclination: We are a data driven company. You’re very comfortable in excel / other data tools
- Clear communicator: We communicate heavily via writing - you are a clear and concise writer and can bring your audience along your thought process and analysis
- Strong work ethic: From day 1, you will get responsibility and access beyond your tenure. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to take on challenges and put in the work to tackle them
- Team player: This is a cross-functional role. Your success will be tied closely to the success of the functions you’re supporting. Seeing your success as their success is critical!
- NYC Based: This role is a hybrid role, with in-person required Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in our Manhattan office
