Manager Torrefaction and Gasification Fundamentals at Perpetual Next

Shalini Graham has extensive work experience in the field of chemical engineering and research. Shalini currently works at Perpetual Next as the Manager Torrefaction and Gasification Fundamentals, where they focus on the conversion of bio feedstocks into high-value carbon refined products. Prior to this, they were the Lead R&D Chemical Engineer at Perpetual Next, managing research collaborations with universities and project consortia partners in the areas of torrefaction, pyrolysis, and gasification chemistry.

Before joining Perpetual Next, Shalini worked at CLEAN ELECTRICITY GENERATION UK LTD as a Chemical Engineer in R&D Projects. Shalini was responsible for conducting research and development projects related to CEG Technology. Prior to that, they worked at The University of Nottingham as a Research Engineer in the Cleaner Fossil Energy and Carbon Capture Technologies Research Group.

Shalini's earlier experience includes an Engineering doctorate at The University of Nottingham, where they collaborated with E.ON Technologies on a research project about the degradation of biomass fuels during storage and its impacts on handling, milling, and combustion. Shalini has also worked as a Process Engineer at Dow Corning, focusing on reliability improvement projects and re-designing an important unit in a Chlorocarbon removal plant. Additionally, they gained industry experience as a Summer Placement Student at Procter & Gamble.

Throughout their career, Shalini has presented their research at national and international conferences and has published several articles.

Shalini Graham completed their education with a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham between 2002 and 2006. Prior to that, they attended Queen Elizabeth College Mauritius from 1994 to 2000. Later, they pursued an Engineering doctorate (EngD) in Efficient Fossil Energy Technologies at the University of Nottingham from 2009 to 2015. No degree or field of study was specified for their time at Queen Elizabeth College Mauritius.
