Sebastian Speier

Sebastian Speier is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles across notable companies. Currently serving as a member of the design staff at Perplexity since May 2025, Sebastian previously held the position of Senior Design Manager at Shopify from June 2020 to May 2025, where responsibilities included overseeing design teams and initiatives. Other significant positions include Design Manager and Experience Design Lead at Airbnb and Product Design Lead at Instagram. Sebastian's career also features a tenure as Global Design Director for Nike’s SNKRS, as well as creative leadership roles at This Also and Huge. Additionally, Sebastian has contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor at Parsons School of Design, instructing in MPS Communication Design. An alumnus of Concordia University, Sebastian holds a BFA Hon. in Design and Computation Arts.
