Paul Bonucci M.D.

Paul Bonucci MD, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Paul currently works at OSF HealthCare, where they provide addiction medicine care with a focus on individuals struggling with opiate use problems. Paul is a strong proponent of a harm reduction approach and maintains strong linkages to other community agencies and support services.

In 2011, Paul founded Princeton Prompt Care LLC and led the independent operation of an urgent care practice. This included patient care, minor procedures, X-ray, labs, vaccinations, occupational medicine, and opiate addiction treatment. The practice was successfully sold to Perry Memorial Hospital in April 2016, where Paul continued as the Medical Director until May 2018. Paul currently oversees the hospital's opiate addiction treatment program.

Paul is also a Co-Founder and Partner at Schwarzentraub Bonucci Partners, an advisory firm focused on sustainable physical and mental wellness, healthcare delivery, and medical logistics. They are currently focused on the national Coronavirus pandemic response. Additionally, they founded and owns DanEllie Properties LLC and is a co-owner of Bonucci Farms LLC.

Prior to their current roles, Paul served as the Medical Director and Physician at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, where they provided patient care and medical direction to the Emergency Department and Urgent Care facilities. Paul oversaw the clinical performance of other healthcare professionals and led the hospital's Stroke Center Certification and Emergency Department.

Paul has also held various roles in different organizations, including serving as a Board Member and Accredited Investor at Starved Rock Country Capital Fund, Founder and Physician at Eagle Physician Services LLC, Independent Contract Emergency Medicine Physician at Trinity Hospital/Doctor's Hospital/University Hospital, and Major/Field Surgeon/Captain in the US Army.

Paul Bonucci MD, MBA completed their education in a chronological manner. Paul began by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Economics from Dartmouth College in 1984. Paul then went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago in 1987.

In 1992, Paul Bonucci enrolled at Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine, where they pursued a degree in Medicine. Paul successfully completed their medical education in 1996 and obtained their MD degree.

Following their medical degree, Paul Bonucci completed a Transitional Internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in 1996-1997. Paul then pursued an Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Cook County Hospital from 1997 to 2000, further specializing in the field.

Recently, in 2018-2019, Paul Bonucci participated in the Opioid Use Disorder Treatment Fellowship Program at Rush University, which enhanced their knowledge in this area.

Additionally, Paul Bonucci holds various certifications. Paul became a Physician And Surgeon (Allopathic - M.D.) certified by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in July 2020. Paul is also certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM) since January 2019.
