Esmeralda Santiago

Esmeralda Santiago is a prolific author with a career spanning several decades, currently serving as an author at Random House since 1994 and at Perseus Books Group since 1992, where notable works include "WHEN I WAS PUERTO RICAN" and "ALMOST A WOMAN." Santiago is also recognized for contributions to children's literature published by Scholastic and has experience as an author and lecturer at Cantomedia since 1977. In addition to publishing, Santiago served as a board member for organizations such as the PEN American Center and the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers.
