Director Of Donor Retention And Operations at PETA Foundation

Deedra Aro has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Deedra began their career as a Senior Teller at Washington Mutual Savings Bank from 2002 to 2004. Deedra then moved on to the Santa Clara Valley Water District where they worked as an Intern in the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Oversight Program from 2004 to 2005. Deedra joined PETA in 2005 as an Activist Liaison, where they facilitated grassroots activism and developed standard operating procedures for recurring campaigns. Deedra held this role until 2008. From 2008 to 2016, Deedra worked at the PETA Foundation, initially as a Senior Manager of International Development Operations and later as the Assistant Director of Major Donor Operations and Strategies. In these positions, they managed teams responsible for major donor correspondence, record upkeep, and portfolio assistance. Then, in 2019, Deedra joined the San Francisco Veg Society as the Board Secretary. Finally, in the same year, they became the Director of Donor Retention and Operations at the PETA Foundation, overseeing major gifts operations, support, and the Berkeley office.

Deedra Aro obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, between 1997 and 2001.
