Senior Director, Research, Content & Medical Affairs at Petal

Mireille Luc, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mireille is currently serving as the Senior Director of Healthcare Strategy at Petal, a health tech company focused on facilitating digital transformation in healthcare delivery organizations. In this role, they are responsible for patient access, workforce well-being, and data analytics through interoperability.

Prior to their current position, Dr. Luc worked at the Université de Sherbrooke for nearly a decade. Mireille held multiple roles during their time there, including Deputy Director of the Primary Care Practice-Based Research Network, Deputy Director of the Department of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine, Coordinator of the Primary Care Practice-Based Research Network, and Clinical Associate Professor in the Family Medicine Academic Department. In these positions, they developed strategic initiatives, built corporate alliances, secured research grants, managed budgets, implemented leadership training programs, and provided strategic advice to medical doctors for leadership improvement.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Luc worked at CIUSSS de l'Estrie - CHUS. Mireille served as a Research Supervisor and Teacher in the Family Medicine Program, a Coordinator of Research and Nutritionist, and a Clinical Nutritionist during their tenure.

Mireille Luc, PhD, has a diverse education history spanning multiple fields. Mireille obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Dietitian/Nutritionist (Dt.P.) from Université Laval between 1996 and 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Sciences from Université de Sherbrooke from 2002 to 2005. In 2012, Mireille completed a Microprogramme de 2e cycle in Pedagogy of Health Sciences at Université de Sherbrooke.

Continuing their academic journey, Mireille went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Research in Health Sciences & Community Health Sciences from Université de Sherbrooke from 2012 to 2017. Mireille further expanded their knowledge and skills by obtaining a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from École de technologie supérieure in 2020.

Mireille has recently embarked on a new educational pursuit. Mireille is currently enrolled in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program with a focus on Business Administration at Université de Sherbrooke, anticipated to be completed in 2024.

In addition to their formal degrees, Mireille obtained a Dietician/Nutritionist certification from Ordre professionnel des diététistes du Québec in January 2000.
