Anna Cifuentes-Rius

Anna Cifuentes-Rius is an experienced professional in the field of biotechnology and cancer therapeutics, currently serving as a Business Development Manager at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre since July 2023. In this senior role, Anna is responsible for the commercialization of innovative technologies aimed at improving cancer treatment. Concurrently, Anna acts as a First Believer and Mentor at Startmate. Previously, Anna held various leadership positions at Exopharm Ltd, including Director of Research & Innovation and Research & Innovation Manager, focusing on R&D portfolio development and bridging commercial needs within the biotechnology sector. Anna's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Nanotechnology from Universitat Ramon Llull, complemented by experiences at prestigious institutions such as MIT and Monash University, where significant contributions were made in drug delivery systems. Anna also possesses a rich educational foundation with degrees in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Research Innovation.
