Joi L.

Joi L. has a strong background in education and school administration. They began their career as a Principal in Chesterfield County Public Schools from July 2016 to July 2019. Following this role, they served as an Equity Coordinator in the same school district from July 2019 to November 2020. They then joined Richmond Public Schools in November 2020 as a Coordinator of School Improvement until July 2023. Currently, Joi L. holds the position of Director of Secondary Education in Petersburg City Public Schools, starting in July 2023.

Joi L. has pursued education at various institutions in order to further their career in educational leadership and administration. They began their academic journey from 1993 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History & Political Science from Virginia Union University. To further their expertise in the field, Joi L. went on to pursue a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at Virginia State University, attending from 2004 to 2007. Currently, Joi L. is enrolled at Liberty University, where they are expected to complete their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General by 2024.
