Yolonda C. Brown serves as the Acting Superintendent for Petersburg City Public Schools since July 2024. Prior to this role, Yolonda C. Brown held the position of Chief Academic Officer at Atlanta Public Schools from August 1993 to June 2024, where responsibilities included setting long-term and short-term strategic visions for academic programs and overseeing the implementation of significant budget initiatives. Earlier positions in Atlanta Public Schools included Associate Superintendent of Schools, where leadership development for school principals was emphasized, as well as direct monitoring of school budgets. Yolonda C. Brown's career in education began as a Middle School Teacher and progressed through various leadership roles, including Principal and District Office Model Teacher Leader/Facilitator. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson University, a Master of Education in Middle Grades Education from Mercer University, and advanced certifications from Clark Atlanta University and Harvard Graduate School of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration.
