William C. Smith

William C. “Bill” Smith is the president of Commercial Office and serves on the Company’s Investment Committee. He is responsible for overseeing the development and operation of Peterson’s approximately 3.75 million square feet of office space and 390 acres of commercial land. Bill has established one of the region’s most successful platforms for the development and ownership of U.S. Government long-term leased buildings.

Bill has been a valued employee of Peterson Companies since 1995. Some of the most innovative projects he has overseen include the Liberty Crossing and Dulles Discovery campuses. These developments are among the most highly secure buildings in the U.S. government intelligence community.

Bill received his BS in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and earned his MBA in Business Administration from Stanford University. He is currently a member of the Urban Land Institute and NAIOP. He serves on the board of several nonprofit organizations including Jubilee Housing Support Foundation.
