Leo Steffens has extensive work experience in the agricultural industry. Leo began their career in 1989 as a Research Assistant at Agsearch, where they worked until 1993. In 1994, they joined Peterson Farms Inc. as a Raw Product Manager, where they communicated with various departments to develop harvest plans and negotiate prices for different commodities. In 2016, they were promoted to the role of Director of Raw Product Procurement, where they continued to work with different departments and field teams to develop product use and purchase plans.

Leo Steffens attended Grand Rapids Junior College from 1986 to 1988. Leo then went on to study Food Systems Economics and Management at Michigan State University from 1988 to 1990.
