Isla Furlong

Isla is Director of Intellectual Property and has over 20 years’ experience as a patent attorney in both industry and private practice. Isla joined PetMedix from boutique IP firm, Stratagem IPM, where she was Head of Patents and specialised in advising early-stage companies on their IP strategy.

Before that, Isla spent 7 years as Assistant General Counsel at GSK in the Biopharm business unit, with responsibility for IP issues for a number of platform and product antibody projects. Isla is a qualified European Patent Attorney and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys. She has a PhD in cancer biology from the University of London and a MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.

In her role at PetMedix, Isla works closely with both internal and external stakeholders to maximise the value of intellectual property within the company.
