Troy Ruths has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Troy is the Founder & CEO of Petro.ai, a company that specializes in delivering accurate forecasts tied to fundamentals using data and physics. Troy founded Petro.ai in 2013, driven by their belief in the importance of energy in shaping geopolitics and supporting civilization growth.

Prior to starting Petro.ai, Troy worked for Chevron as a Data Science Consultant from 2006 to 2013. Troy was a pioneer in applying data science techniques to reservoir challenges, working on projects that included NOJV deal screening, rapid well package analyses, portfolio management, well interference, and reservoir surveillance. Troy worked across 4 continents in various basins and resource plays, and Chevron relied on him as a global data science expert.

Troy Ruths pursued their education with dedication and success. Troy began their academic journey at Washington University in St. Louis, where they undertook a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science. From the years 2004 to 2008, they honed their knowledge and skills in this field.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Troy Ruths sought further academic attainment. Troy was accepted into Rice University, where they dedicated himself to the pursuit of knowledge in the field of Computer Science. From 2008 to 2013, they engaged in intensive research and study, ultimately earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. This program not only expanded their expertise but also deepened their understanding of complex computer science concepts.
