Karen Barbara, P. Eng, serves as the Manager of Learning and Operational Excellence at Petro-Canada Lubricants since May 2012, where responsibilities include developing systems for training objectives and leading a team focused on Process Safety Management. Karen's extensive experience includes roles as a Shift Supervisor and Performance Analyst at Petro-Canada and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, respectively, as well as various engineering positions at Suncor Energy, where project management for environmental compliance was a key focus. Karen's technical expertise in process engineering, coupled with a background in environmental safety and education, is supported by a B.A. Sc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Certificate in Adult Learning and Development. Additionally, ongoing professional development in Baking Arts and Culinary Arts is pursued through George Brown College. Licensed with l'Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec, Karen's career reflects a commitment to operational excellence and safety management.
