Martin Layfield

Vice President, Engineering Consultancy at Petrofac

Martin Layfield has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Martin started their career in 1989 as a Product Manager at AGCO Ltd. Martin later worked at Rolls-Royce plc as a Proposals Manager and at Advantica Ltd as a Major Account Manager. In 2007, they joined Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace as a Sales Director and then moved on to Germanischer Lloyd, where they served as the Global Account Director and later as the Head of Business Development. In 2012, they became the Vice President at GL Noble Denton, overseeing the global gas consulting and business development. Martin then joined DNV GL as the Global Gas Segment Director in 2013. In 2017, they became the Business Development Director at Petrofac, and later took on the role of Director, Asset Consultancy Services. From 2020 to 2022, they served as the Engineering Consultancy & Global Growth Director at Petrofac, before assuming their current position as the Vice President, Engineering Consultancy, leading the Consultancy business for the design and engineering of Energy Transition and oil & gas projects internationally. Additionally, they served as a Non Executive Director at EIC (Energy Industries Council) since 2019.

Martin Layfield attended Coventry University from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. In 2014, they participated in the DNV GL Global Leadership Programme at INSEAD.
