WenZhan Song is the Georgia Power Mickey A. Brown Professor at the University of Georgia, where responsibilities include serving as the Founding Director of the Center for Cyber-Physical Systems and securing multi-million research grants from federal agencies and industry since August 2016. Additionally, WenZhan Song is the Founder of Intelligent Dots, established in December 2014, focusing on IoT technology and recognized for developing the BedDot contactless sensor device for sleep activity monitoring. Previous academic positions include Professor at Georgia State University from August 2010 to July 2016 and Assistant Professor at Washington State University from August 2005 to August 2010, both of which involved significant research funding and prestigious awards. Early career experience includes a role as Software Engineer and Team Lead at Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell, contributing to the design of system architecture and development of telecom standards. WenZhan Song holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and both a BS and MS in Computer Science from Nanjing University of Science and Technology.
