Chaitanya Behera has extensive experience in the field of reservoir engineering, currently serving as a Senior/Lead Reservoir Engineer at Petroleum Development Oman since January 2013, where responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary teams and managing IOR/EOR development projects. Previously, Chaitanya held roles at PETRONAS from 2008 to 2025, including Specialist Reservoir Engineer and Senior Reservoir Engineer, focusing on field redevelopment and hydrocarbon maturation plans. Chaitanya began a career at ONGC from 1996 to 2008, contributing to reservoir data acquisition and production forecasting across various assets. Chaitanya's academic background includes a PhD in clay mineralogical studies and basin analysis from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and advanced degrees in geology and applied geology.
