Dr Simone Maher

Dr. Simone Maher possesses extensive experience in veterinary medicine and animal welfare, having served as Deputy Director and Director at the Centre for Veterinary Education from January 2019 to March 2021. Prior roles include Chief Veterinarian at the Animal Welfare League NSW (2011 - 2018) and Senior Veterinarian at RSPCA Australia (2000 - 2011). Dr. Maher is actively involved in academia as Deputy Chair of the University of Sydney Animal Ethics Committee and has been a part-time Veterinarian at Macarthur Veterinary Group since July 2022. As of April 2024, Dr. Maher holds the position of Chief Veterinary Officer at PetSure (Australia). Educational qualifications include a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies (Higher Education) and a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science with First Class Honors from the University of Sydney, along with a membership in Animal Welfare, Ethics, and Law from the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.
