Christian Schaffner

Advisory Council Member at Pexapark

Christian Schaffner is an Advisory Council Member at Pexapark. Christian was previously a researcher at the Energy Science Center, ETH Zurich, where they worked on the Nexus-e project. In this role, they led the modeling of the Distributed Investments Module, which optimizes the investment of distributed energy resources especially the energy storage units. Christian also quantified and analyzed the impact of technological, economic, regulatory, and societal developments on potential pathways for the energy transition. Additionally, they assisted in building the input and output databases of the platform using MySQL.

Christian has also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zürich and as a Teaching Assistant at ETH Zürich. Christian has a PhD in Economics from ETH Zurich.

Christian Schaffner attended college at Southeast University where they earned their Bachelor of Engineering. Christian then continued their studies at the Technical University of Munich, earning their Master of Science in electrical and computer engineering. Finally, they pursued their Doctor of Science at ETH Zürich in electrical and computer engineering. In addition to their academic degrees, they also have a certification from Pexapark in energy storage fundamentals from the Energy Storage Fundamentals Academy.
