Jürgen Bernauer

Jürgen Bernauer is the current CEO at PFIFFNER. Prior to this, they were with ABB from October 1997 to December 2018, where they held the title of Geschäftsführung Leistungshalbleiter. In this role, they were responsible for global profit/loss in the power semiconductor segment for customers in the areas of energy technology, traction and industry (power drives).

Jürgen is responsible for the strategic definition, annual key performance indicators system, and direct management of 10 employees and indirect management of more than 700 employees at the Lenzburg (CH), Prague (CZ) and Beijing (CN) locations with functions including R&D, engineering, production, SCM, product management, sales and implementation, quality.

Jürgen has received numerous awards throughout their career, most notably the Standort Lenzburg Fabrik des Jahres 2018 in the category of Standortsicherung durch Digitalisierung (GEO Award, AT Kearney, Zeitschrift Produktion und Süddeutscher Verlag).

Other notable achievements include the development of a local company culture, talent acquisition and development, establishment of new business areas (medium power components for automotive and industrial customers), assessment of partnerships in M&A environment, establishment and maintenance of production partnerships in Asia (China, Philippines), personal network with largest key customers and suppliers, definition and implementation of initiatives to increase company efficiency - such as fully automated Industry 4.0 backend production - conversion from 150 mm to 200 mm wafer production - establishment of production consortium CH-CZ - centralization and strengthening of key functions such as product management and application engineering to ensure design-in of our products at customer sites.

Jürgen Bernauer studied to be an electrical engineer at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Afterwards, they completed an apprenticeship as an electrician at Berufsschule Waldshut.
