Robert (Bob) Gunnels is a retired professional with extensive experience in laboratory animal care and use support service programs, spanning multiple decades in both the military and pharmaceutical sectors. They served as a veterinarian and director of comparative medicine programs in various Defense Department biomedical research institutions, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. As the Director of WWCM Global Regulatory Compliance at Pfizer, they led efforts in preparing and maintaining AAALAC accreditation status, guiding sites through numerous successful inspections. Gunnels holds a BS and DVM in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University and a Master's degree in Fisheries Science from the University of Washington. Currently retired, Gunnels concluded their career at Pfizer in November 2016 after 26 years.
