Karen Baker has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Karen started their professional career as an Advertising Associate at Ad Images, Inc. in 1988. Karen then joined WRCB TV as a Marketing & Promotion Director in 1989, where they worked for ten years. In 1999, they joined Creative Resources as a Marketing, Public Relations, Writer/Producer.
Karen Baker then joined Propex Operating Company, LLC as a Public Relations Manager in 2000, before moving on to See Rock City, Inc. in 2001 as a Sr. Director of Marketing. At See Rock City, Inc., they were responsible for developing and managing marketing strategies for various attractions.
In 2005, Karen Baker became the Sr. Director of Marketing at Lookout Mountain Attractions, where they oversaw the marketing and media strategies for attractions such as Rock City Gardens, Ruby Falls, and the Incline Railway.
Since 2016, Karen Baker has been working as the Sr. Director of Branding and Marketing at PGAV Destinations, a leading master planner and designer of theme parks, museums, and other brand-based experiences.
In addition to their professional roles, Karen Baker was also an Official Member of the Forbes Communications Council from 2017 to 2020.
Karen Baker obtained their BA in Communication and Psychology from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, graduating in 1988. In addition to their degree, they also hold several certifications. In 2000, they obtained a Media 100 Editor Certification from Bowling Green State University. Then, in 2004, they obtained a Tourism Management Certification from the University of West Georgia. Finally, in January 2017, they became an ICAP - IAAPA Certified Attractions Professional through the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).
