Tej Kashi is a software engineer currently working at pgEdge since July 2023, focusing on core Postgres internals such as logical replication, heap management, concurrency control, and WAL for multi-master distributed systems. Prior to this role, Tej served as a graduate research student at the University of Waterloo, completing a thesis on "Eventual Durability of ACID Transactions in Database Systems" under Prof Ken Salem, and also worked as a graduate instructional apprentice and teaching assistant for various courses. Tej gained significant industry experience as a senior software engineer at ARTPARK, contributing to the XRaySetu project for COVID-19 detection, and as a technical associate at the Indian Institute of Science, where responsibilities included end-to-end software delivery. Previous internships also involved security solutions for smart city applications and evaluating NoSQL databases for IoT use. Tej holds a Master of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from Christ University, Bangalore.
