Jim Gao

Jim Gao is the CEO and Co-Founder of Phaidra. Prior to their current role, Jim was the Team Lead for DeepMind Energy, where they were responsible for commercializing DeepMind's AI technologies to combat climate change. Under Jim's leadership, the team was able to deliver 40% energy savings in Google's data center cooling systems.

Jim has always been passionate about technology and its potential to make a positive impact on the world. Jim was recruited by Google in 2011 as a Technical Lead, where they led a team of 40+ interdisciplinary experts to develop an AI application that would control multiple mission-critical Google data centers via the cloud. This application is now live and has helped Google save millions of dollars in energy costs.

In their free time, Jim enjoys spending time with their family and friends, and they are an avid tennis player.

Jim Gao has a degree in Mechanical Engineering & Environmental Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Jim also has a certification in Artificial Intelligence from edX.
