Jim Cantrell

Co-Founder & CEO at Phantom Space

Jim Cantrell has an extensive background in the aerospace industry, having founded or held senior positions at several companies specializing in space technology. Jim is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Phantom Space.

Prior to their current role, Cantrell was the Executive Vice President for Flight Systems at R2 Space. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the development of flight hardware systems.

Before joining R2 Space, Cantrell was the CEO and Founder of StratSpace, a management and engineering firm specializing in investor due diligence, venture capital development, spacecraft engineering, and launch vehicles. StratSpace was headquartered in Tucson, Arizona.

Cantrell has also held senior positions at Wolverine Capital Partners, ATLAS Space Operations, Inc., York Space Systems LLC, ICEYE, and the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Jim also founded Vintage Exotics Competition Engineering, a company that specializes in vintage racing cars.

Jim Cantrell has a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University as well as a Bachelors degree in the same field from the same university.
