Nicole Spieker

Nicole Spieker has a diverse work experience in the healthcare sector. Nicole is currently the Chief Executive Officer at PharmAccess Foundation, where they focus on creating access to affordable and quality healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa. Nicole has been with the organization since 2009, initially starting as the Director Quality.

In 2023, Nicole will join Leapfrog to Value as a Principal. In this role, they will work with a collective that aims to unlock the value of compassionate and high-quality care in various countries.

Before their time at PharmAccess and Leapfrog to Value, Nicole held positions at Aga Khan Foundation and Aga Khan University. At Aga Khan Foundation, they served as the Director of clinical support services and the Head of Clinical Pathology. Their responsibilities included overseeing various departments, fostering collaboration, and managing laboratories. At Aga Khan University, they worked as a lecturer.

Prior to their work in healthcare organizations, Nicole was a postdoc at the Hubrecht Laboratory for Developmental Biology, where they focused on Wnt signalling and its role in tumor formation. In addition to their research duties, they managed the animal facility and handled administrative matters.

Nicole Spieker pursued their education at Utrecht University, where they obtained a Master's of Science degree in Molecular Biology. This educational journey lasted from 1989 to 1995. Additionally, they attended the University of Amsterdam for their doctoral studies in Molecular Genetics, completing their PhD degree between 1996 and 2000.
