Pablo Villegas Mirón, Ph.D

Pablo Villegas Mirón, Ph.D has a broad range of work experience. In 2012, they completed a student internship in the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and the Molecular Plant Development and Metabolism Group at the Institute for Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF). During this internship, they developed programming skills in R and Shell bash languages, as well as algorithms and analysis pipelines in a Linux-based High Performance Computing (HPC) environment. In 2014, they served as an External Collaborator at Abengoa. In 2016, they completed a student internship at the Evolutionary Systems Biology group at the Institut de Biología Evolutiva (IBE). During this time, they developed skills in R, Python and Shell bash programming. In 2017, they held a Predoctoral Student role at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra - Barcelona, where they analyzed genetic variation and regulatory data in the context of human evolution and health. Pablo also held an Associate Professor role at the Universidad de Magallanes. Finally, in 2022, they began working as a Senior Data Scientist at PharmaLex Formerly BioStat Solutions.

Pablo Villegas Mirón, Ph.D. obtained their Doctorado degree in Biomedicina from Universitat Pompeu Fabra between 2016 and 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Master in Bioinformatics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona between 2015 and 2016. Pablo also obtained a Grado en Bioquímica degree in Biología molecular y Bioinformática from Universidad de Sevilla between 2010 and 2014, and a Grado en Biología from Universidad de Sevilla between 2009 and 2010. In addition, they have obtained a Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp certification from Udemy in April 2022, as well as a B2 First certification from Cambridge Assessment English.
