Hugh O'Neill has worked in the field of data analysis and software validation since 2002. In 2018, they began working as a Director of Quality and Operations and a Consultant for PHARMASEAL. Finally, in 2019, they took a Consultant role with Takeda and in 2020 they began working as a Consultant - Business Analysis and Software Validation for Cancer Research UK (CRUK).

Hugh O'Neill received their PhD in Computational Drug Design from Liverpool School of Pharmacy in 1989. Prior to this, they obtained a BSc (HONS) in Applied Biology from Liverpool John Moores University in 1985.
