Valerie Purvis

Valerie Purvis has a diverse work history spanning over several decades. Their most recent role was as a Project Manager at Pharos, which they started in 2023. Prior to that, Valerie worked at Wells Fargo, where they held various positions, including Technology Operations Analyst, Technichal Business Services Consultant, Technology Business Services Sr. Analyst, Technology Initiatives Support Coordinator, and Technical Project Coordinator. Valerie gained experience in project coordination, relationship management with vendors, and technical project management methodologies. Valerie also obtained Microsoft Cloud and Azure certifications to adapt to the evolving Cloud environment.

Before joining Wells Fargo, Valerie served as a Deputy City Clerk at the City of Woodward, IA, where they were responsible for utility billing functions and provided support to the City Clerk. Valerie also worked at L-3 Communications as a CTSF Ft. Hood Texas, at Find A Home Real Estate as an Office Manager/Property Manager/Real Estate Sales Person, at Express Personnel as a Temporary Secretarial and Administrative Personnel, and at the Department of Finance and Accounting as a GS - 04 Payroll Clerk.

Valerie's career began in 1989 when they worked at the Irwin Army Community Hospital - Mental Health Clinic as a GS-04 Secretary/Typist (Temporary Assignment), typing documents, answering phones, and maintaining confidentiality. Valerie also worked at the Colmery O'Neil VA Medical Center as a Medical Records Clerk responsible for filing and retrieving medical records.

Valerie Purvis obtained an Associate's Degree in Management Information Systems - Informatics from Des Moines Area Community College, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they graduated from Grantsville Jr./Sr. High School in 1984, where they focused on Business Systems/Science from 1979 to 1984.

In addition to their education, Valerie Purvis has achieved several certifications. In 2019, they completed the Business Analysis Foundations: Fundamentals course from Lynda.com. In 2022, they obtained certifications in Azure Fundamentals and Microsoft 365 Fundamentals from Microsoft. In 2023, they earned a Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification from The Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC).
